"Ho, Ho, Ho!" not "Ha, Ha, Ha!"

Surprisingly, Lucas like to wear his Santa hat around. He looks pretty darn cute. It will be fun when dad gets his out, too. It is pretty easy to get excited about this season with a little one around.

Peek-a-boo!

Lucas is hiding in the closet. He continually figures out new things. He watches our every move, and we are often surprised at the actions he chooses to mimic. He spits in the the toilet (like dad). He wants to operate light switches. He likes to take caps off pens and he usually puts them back on. It it fun to see the things he learns on his own.

Pumpkins

Lucas painted some pumpkins for Halloween. Some things are just plain ol' fun!

Talking. . .

Lucas is really starting to communicate better these days. He has learned a lot of new words. Some we have taught him, and others he has taught us. Lately, we can get him to mimic new words. Once he starts doing that, I expect that his vocabulary will erupt. He says "Go," "no," "hello," "hot," (gonna) "get you," "all done," "we're home" "whoa," and many more. He mimics intonation really well. Sometimes, he does not pronounce words and phrases well, but we know what he is saying by his tones.

My favorite word that he says is "star." When we take the dogs outside after dark, he points up to the enormous sky with his tiny finger, and he whispers, "Star!" I hope that he always finds twinkling stars painted on a deep blue canvas enchanting.

Halloween

Lucas enjoyed Halloween much more this year. We dressed him up as a skeleton. He would not say trick-or-treat, but he fully understood the process of taking candy and putting it into his bucket. We had a lot of fun. With all the parties and events, Lucas was out in his costume on four different days. We thought that our costumes would scare him, but I guess he just expects crazy things from us.
