Baptism
The baptism went quite well. Father Jose Chavez announced that it was not an actual baptism but just the ceremonial part. (He was actually baptised by Fr. Tom Malloney on his birthday before his helicopter ride.) People would have wondered why he didn't get wet. Johnna put the garment on him. Chasity lit the candle. Lucas was very well behaved through the baptism part. During the Eucharist, he started to fuss, and I thought I would have to take him out. Eventually he settled back down and made it through Mass.
Afterward, most of Chris' family was able to come over for a picnic. We fried a turkey (that's always good). The weather was cool outside (maybe mid-60's). Overall, it was a great day.
Grandma Vikki got to babysit Lucas on Friday and Monday. I am sure she loved it. It is probably pretty nice to get to have all the fun with none of the responsibility. . .That's what grandparenting is, right?

Planning the Baptism
June 19, Lucas has his baptismal service at 5:00 PM mass. He has already been baptised (before the helicopter ride), so this will just be a formality. We are having two Godmothers, Johnna and Chris' niece, Chasity. Is that weird? I don't know why, but we just don't know too many "good Catholic" men. What's the deal with that? We kind of wanted to stick with relatives because they should be around his whole life. Hummm. . . Anyway, Grandma Vikki and Johnna will be coming for that. We are having a big BBQ afterward.

3 months
Lucas is growing all the time. He changes everyday. It is so subtle that it is hard to see, but then when I look at how far he has come I am just amazed. Can you tell I love being a dad? Lucas and I have already had some talks about the terrible twos and the teenage years. I figure if I can "nip it in the bud" then parenting can always be as great as it is right now. (Ha!). He has started giggling, and he talks a lot. We're trying to teach each other our respective languages. Anyway, it seems like Chris and I are not getting anything else done, but then, what could be more worth doing? I can't believe he is already 3 months old!
