Favorite things. . .
Lucas is really starting to become his own little person these days. He is talking much better. His pronounciation is still lacking, but we usually know what he means. He asks for things specifically like "wah-wer," "can-ee," juice, etc. You can ask him questions, and he answers "yep" or "yeah" or "no." He definitely knows what he wants, and he is pretty sure that he is in charge around here.
Lucas loves to feed the ducks. We have a drake and a mallard that swim over to our house almost daily. The feedings probably encourage the visits, but throwing bread to them is the highlight of Lucas's day.
His ability to watch me and figure things out is unbelievable. He knows how to operate a hammer and tape measure and a level. (We are building a deck.) I let him water a couple of new trees that we planted. Later in the evening, he managed to turn the water back on and was giving them all a second helping of water.
He is starting to call people by their names. He knows several of his cousins and a few aunts and uncles.
We've had some chilly spring weather, and Lucas is quite anxious for sunshine. He is ready to don the lifejacket and head for the lake. It won't be long.
