Since we brought Lucas home, he has slept about 3 hours at a time during the night. The last week or so, he has often extended that to 4 and 5 hours. There have been a few nights when he just could not get calm and comfortable, but I think it is all very normal. Overall, we have a pretty good baby. This phase won't last long, and we are still enjoying the extra cuddling time even if it is in the middle of the night.
He definitely changes all the time. I thought that milestones would be more evident, but he changes subtly everyday. He has started vocalizing a few sounds once in awhile that are not crying. He has started to notice toys. He is turning his head now to look at things. He will look at a toy, or he'll turn when he hears our voices. I am sure he is a long way from scooting or rolling over, but he definitely gets active. He kicks and waves his arms. On his belly, he tries to lift himself up. It is fun to see. He stays awake a lot more, and he seems pretty content to just look around and check things out. Sometimes, he just wants to be held. Lately when he is tired, he will get crabby and try to fight off sleep. Before he would just be out like a light. He likes me singing to him. Sometimes if he's crying, that is enough to calm him. There is just so much. I have been having a blast. He takes up all of our time, but there is nothing we'd rather be doing.
