ah!

Lucas is doing great. He is really challenging us with the eating and the sleeping, but other than that he is great. He has been able to walk (sort of) for quite some time. At Christmas, he would walk 8-10 feet back and forth between two people. Gradually, he has been getting braver and better. The last couple days, he has been venturing around the house on his own. He tottles around stopping periodically to lean on things. We have been childproofing areas as he finds them, but he sure likes being able to follow us into different rooms. He found the basket of lids in the lazy-susan, and now he can pull it out and dump it on the floor in two seconds.

As far as eating. . .for some reason, the last couple weeks he has lost interest in his babyfood dinners. He used to like everything, and now he just refuses to eat the dinners. He will eat the fruits, the veggies, and the cereal. It is odd. This may just be a phase.

As far as sleeping. . .he is still pretty good about sleeping through most nights, but he has started getting up more and more. Even that was fine for awhile. We could just rock him until he fell asleep and then lay him back down. Lately, he has started waking up the instant that we lay him down. He pops back up in his crib and wants to be held. This may be a test of who is training who.

He has started waving. He is very cute, and he thinks it is very fun. Yesterday, when we were leaving the babysitter, he started waving without anyone cueing him. He just knew we were leaving, so he was saying bye-bye. He has also been learning to clap. Bringing two hands together in the same spot at the same time with enough force enough to make noise requires a lot of coordination.
