We're home!

We are home. We got home late Wednesday. Lucas is doing great. Mom and Dad are glad to be home!

Lucas will have to wear a monitor. He will probably have to have it for a couple months. It checks his heart rate and respiration. There are a lot of false alarms, and it is a little cumbersome, but it is a nice peace of mind. The doc is mostly concerned with the viruses going around. They could cause him problems. Also, the passage could close again somewhere down the road, so it is just safer.

They will also be rechecking his hearing. He did not do well on that screen, but they believe it may just be swelling from the surgery. Hearing problems are not normally associated with the choanal atresia.

We are finally getting a little rest. Little Lucas is eating like a horse. Breastfeeding is going much better at home. Lucas and Mom still have a little trouble, but that is normal for any baby at this stage. They are getting it figured out.
