Quick update. . .

Lucas had an awful lot of tests today, and I am convinced that he is in good hands. They spent most of the time telling me all of the things that are not wrong with him. I know they are being very thorough, and they have convinced themselves that he is just fine in every way except for that blocked nasal passage.

When the face develops, a bone extends all the way across it. Eventually, holes should develop to allow air flow between the nose and mouth. For Lucas, this
area sofened, so it is more like cartlidge, but the holes did not open. They call the condition Choanal Atresia.

On Monday, they will surgically open the holes. The doctor that will do the surgery is not available until then, so we do not know the exact details yet. There is a chance that the holes will close again at some point, so they may have to do it again somewhere down the road. Recovery will take a few days.

Chris is doing well. They will let her out a day early, so she can come down here tomorrow. Her sister is bringing her. It will be great for her to get down
her and be with Lucas.

Everything is going well. He is a beautiful baby and if you don't believe dad, just ask mom!
